Fibre Art
I have been working as a fibre artist for over twenty years and have exhibited widely both in South Africa and internationally. I have won numerous awards and have work in private and corporate collections both here and abroad. (See my CV)
My work is known for being original and innovative, reflecting a strong African influence which gives it a warm and earthy character. I am inspired primarily by the landscape and the people who inhabit it, but much of my work also reflects my personal life journey. Most of my works are abstract and intuitively created, carrying the spirit of the place, without being a realistic rendering of it.
In my recent works I use a combination of metal, dyed string and cloth and a selection of beads, seeds, thorns and other found materials. They are ideal for the corporate boardroom, hotel foyers, and the decorating of game lodges and homes. (See my Fibre Art Gallery)
